These basic freedoms have been the subjects of countless struggles, and it makes perfect sense that the laborers’ organizations campaigning for eight- or ten-hour workdays and then for five-day work weeks–struggling for free time–should also concern themselves with securing space in which to enjoy this hard-won time (168).
